A topic that has been discussed for centuries on end. Vampires were supposed to be unholy creatures born from the fires of hell that were sent to cause chaos on earth. They were thought to be; immortal, pale skinned, red glowing eyes, tall, pointy and sharp fangs, sleep at day and walk in night, be burned by the sunlight, sleep in coffins, turn into bats, and last of all; drink the blood of living human beings.
It has been said that the single bite of a Vampire would turn any normal human into one themselves. People in the 14th century would even use wooden stakes, crosses, garlic, and fire to kill Vampires. Holy water was also used in the act. These people were known as 'Vampire Hunters' or 'Slayers'. If you were a Vampire, it was best to stay away from these people.
Later on, centuries later, the look on Vampires was completely screwed up. They turned from night dwelling killers, to immortal, moody, attractive, golden eyed people who had special abilities and only drank animal blood. And lets not forget the fact that they sparkle in the sun!
What a load of bullshit.
Vampires actually only have part of the traits listed above. Vampires actually CAN go into the sun. They won't burn away or sparkle like glitter. They just prefer darker, colder places over sunlight and heat. They do have pale skin, but their eyes are all different colors. All Vampire eyes have a dark ring around the iris, and a different color around the pupil. They have better defined senses than normal humans; such as taste, smell, sight, touch, and hearing. They are capable of willing things to happen. And many more attributes which I will not list.
The most surprising thing to all people though, is that they eat both human food, and drink blood. They can survive a week on only a half of a cup of blood; from animal or human. Vampires live with humans everyday. You have probably even seen one before and you just didn't know it. They really are no different from humans. They can be killed any way just like humans can. And many more things. They may be different, but they are still, in a sense, 'Human'.
How do I know all of this you ask?
Well, my name is ____ ____.
And I am a Vampire.
